Solo Builder
Feb 2025 — currentStarted a one-person software company that builds multiple products to solve user problems.
- Built a Chrome extension that helps Notion users save their AI conversations into Notion pages — 90+ weekly users.
- Shipped a weekly meal planner and recipe-inspiration iOS app with 1.5k users.
- Launched a job-application tracker Chrome extension to help job searchers save jobs and parse requirements (since discontinued).
Senior Engineer I
Jan 2022 — Dec 2024Maintained subscription services in production managing 80M+ subscribers at 440 req/s, integrated with Stripe, PayPal, and RevenueCat.
- Built the entitlements service from scratch in TypeScript, scaling it to 40 req/s at p95 of 29 ms across all WeTransfer products.
- Decoupled and refactored a legacy cleanup service, cutting its daily volume from ~1M to ~30–40k records with zero incidents.
- Set up a streamlined process for experimental local-currency launches — shipping Australia, Canada, and the Nordics.
- Maintained the mobile subscription backend and built extensive monitoring across the Android and iOS apps.
Lead Software Engineer
Aug 2019 — Jan 2022Led a bilingual, distributed team across 3 time zones and 4 islands on a 70:30 manager / IC split, owning the internal billing system with accounting and payment integrations.
- Set up industry-standard security practices for PII management, API authentication, and authorization.
- Achieved critical-system uptime above 99.98% SLA while sustaining a healthy Apdex of >94%.
- Established a strong engineering culture of documentation, RFCs, on-call rotation, and >95% code coverage.
Lead Ruby on Rails Developer
Aug 2016 — Aug 2019Promoted from Rails developer to Lead Developer for the Zoom-integrated University Management System. Led and mentored a team of 4 on a 50:50 manager / IC split.
- Delivered an internal notification system for student enrollment 60% ahead of schedule using Slack channels.
- Built internal APIs for attendance and grading that were more scalable, modular, and efficient than the legacy versions.
